Hurry and reserve your seats for the Caribbean’s hottest Music Festival:

CaribFest 2005

  • More than 15 local and foreign artists will be performing
  • All-inclusive packages complete with tickets are available

On the weekend of August 5 and 6, the island of Roatan in the Honduran Caribbean will host what is expected to be one of the hottest and most popular music festivals in the region.

The Coral Cay Marine and Nature Park, which can accommodate an audience of 5,000, will be the stage for the first annual CaribFest. This year’s program is packed with local and international talent the likes of Bacilos, AB Quintanilla, the Kumbia Kings and Elefante, not to mention Honduran artists like Guillermo Anderson and DJ Sy, both of whom are used to sharing the stage with world class acts.

Also on the program will be groups from Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Panama and Trinidad & Tobago, all participating with the support of their Ministries of Tourism back home in a region-wide effort to launch CaribFest as an annual event every August.

The festival will have something for everyone, from the traditional Caribbean genres of salsa, meringue, reggae and soca, to more modern sounds like reggaeton and pop. Audiences of all ages will find what they’re looking for.

The Honduran Institute of Tourism is coordinating the event and has set up packages with airlines, tour operators, hotels and travel agencies for tourists looking for an all-inclusive vacation. There are numerous packages available that include airfare, hotel, food, and, of course, admission to the festival, which will run Friday and Saturday from 2:00 pm to after midnight.

The show will take place on a fully modern stage using the latest light and sound equipment. Ticket prices range from as little as $30 for a two-day package in general seating, to as much as $250 for those who prefer to enjoy the festival in a VIP area offering foods and drink, comfortable seats and a privileged view of the stage.
