U.S. COAST GUARD COMPLETES INSPECTION OF HONDURAN PORTS
Tegucigalpa, June 18, 2020.-As part of the ongoing process to acquire international certification for Honduras’ ports, a delegation of representatives from the United States Coast Guard made reconnaissance visits to the country’s key port facilities.
“We’d like to thank the Honduran government for being such a gracious host in this productive exchange of information on international port security,” said Francisco Palmieri, Policy Advisor at the U.S. Embassy in Honduras. Representatives of the U.S. Coast Guard’s International Port Security Program spent a week in Honduras visiting the country’s five largest ports and engaging in “very productive” dialogues about security and the implementation of the Ship and Port Facility Protection Code.
