With lower fares Aeroméxico will start flying Honduran skies in July

On July 1 Aeroméxico Airlines will begin making weekly flights between Cancun and San Pedro Sula . The new flights, which will be scheduled on Thursdays and Sundays, will boast fares 20-25% lower than area competitors. They will also reduce overall travel time between the two destinations by an hour and forty five minutes, and will make no stops.

Operating under the name Hondumex, the new flights will also offer easy connections to other international airports served by the world's leading airlines, making travel to other destinations easier, faster and less costly than is the current market standard. Aeroméxico has strategic alliances with Continental , Iberia , Alitalia, Air France , Delta and Korean Air, making it possible for travelers out of Honduras to tour the world with a single ticket.

"Flying between Europe , Mexico and Honduras has always been very complicated, especially for business travelers," says Aeroméxico Executive Director William Lazzarini. "This kept many investors from visiting the country. Aeroméxico has recognized the need to open up new routes for this market."

Lazzarini added that Honduras is an increasingly popular destination for vacationers as well as the country's worldwide advertising efforts begin to bear their fruits. The new flights will cater to all kinds of travelers - business, pleasure and cultural.

Aeroméxico executives have made an agreement with the Honduran Ministry of Tourism to promote tourism in both countries, encouraging tourism not only to Mexico , but also increasing the flow of investors and tourists to Honduras .
