In Copan Ruinas
Program Produced for Japanese Television
Drawn by the charm that Honduras offers tourists from all over the world, a production team from the Tokyo Broadcasting Corporation - one of Japan 's largest television stations - visited Copan Ruinas recently to film an educational adventure documentary for Japanese viewers.
The show, titled "The Great Taxi Adventure 2", is funded by UNESCO of Japan and provides viewers with an up-close look at some of the world's most famous and interesting monuments. This latest installment follows the adventures of a taxi full of Japanese tourists traveling the American continent. Their trip began in Panama City .
The Copan segment was designed to show Japanese children how other cultures in other parts of the world and from other time periods dealt with their world and progressed. The show is scheduled to air this summer as part of a line-up designed to celebrate the 40 th anniversary of the channel.
The production team reports that their time in Copan was a complete success, especially thanks to the cooperation of Honduran organizations like the Honduran Institute of Tourism, the Honduran Institute of Anthropology and History, the Department of Population and Immigration and the General Revenue Department. |
