Central America in the Sights of the Tourism Industry
The CENTRO AMERICA TRAVEL MARKET - the region's first tourism trade fair - is poised to place Central America in the lens of tour operators and travelers worldwide. It's scheduled for Guatemala City on October 4 th and 5 th . This technical-professional forum will provide an opportunity for the region's tour operators and other related professionals to make contact with wholesalers from the world's key tourist source markets, especially those in Europe (Spain, Italy, Germany, France, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands), Asia (Japan, Korea and Taiwan) and South America (Chile, Argentina and Brazil). Participants will be able to attend pre-arranged meetings and provide information to the specialized media in their target markets., spreading the word about tourist destinations in the Central American region.
The fair has been designed to promote Central America as a multi-destination tourism option that is highly competitive internationally. It is also intended to consolidate commercial ties between participants, facilitate contacts with potential wholesalers and launch new products and destinations.
The event will enjoy the support and participation of public and private sector organizations, as well as the tourism ministries of each of the nations of Central America and the region's chambers of tourism. Participating in the fair will be Belize , Costa Rica , El Salvador , Guatemala , Honduras , Nicaragua and Panama , which is scheduled to host the next fair in 2005. |
