Network an initiative of Rok Klancnik, head of the Department of the Press and Communications at the World Tourism Organization
Tourism Minister Thierry de Pierrefeu has invited a group of local tourists to join the Central American Network of Tourism Communicators, an organization that was created to promote tourism in the region among travelers worldwide.
The Network began operations on April 27. It is the brainchild of Rok Klancnik, head of the Department of the Press and Communications at the World Tourism Organization, who has been working nearly a decade to carry out the project.
According to Pierrefeu, the Network is also supported by the Central American Tourism Promotion Agency (CATA) in Madrid, the Secretary General of the Central American Integration System and the Central American Tourism Council.
The program seeks to create in each member country a group of journalists who promote tourism in their reports and spread the word about the natural attractions available in each country.
The Central American Network of Tourism Communicators will be officially presented at the International Tourism Fair to be held in January 2006 in Madrid.
This team of Honduran journalists has joined the Network.
